SCT supports retailers with reliable retail IT and EPOS services built on 30+ years of delivery experience. Now part of Vista Technology Support, we operate across Ireland, the UK and Europe, helping customers deploy, refresh and support technology at scale.

Founded

1994

Founded by John Hogan, SCT begins providing IT helpdesk, on-site support, and consultancy services to the retail sector.

1994

By early

2010s

Grows to support over 10,000 POS terminals across more than 5,000 sites in Ireland.

2010s

September

2019

Completes a full POS hardware and software refresh across 34 O’Brien’s Wines stores using Poindus touchscreen tills and Microsoft Dynamics NAV, gaining attention from major retailers, and making their mark on the industry.

April

2021

Poised to roll out major EPOS deployments for clients in sectors like forecourts, sports footwear, and travel, including hardware staging and support projects for brands like HP, Toshiba, and NCR.

2021

2022

Successfully deploys new POS tills across Elverys Sports stores throughout Ireland, complete with staging, scheduling and live project tracking via SCT’s client portal.

2022

2024

Acquired by Vista Technology Support, enhancing SCT’s service capabilities across Ireland, the UK, and Europe; SCT becomes part of the Vista group under CEO James Pepper.

2025-2026

SCT continued to grow its customer portfolio with further brand exposure and investment. With major growth, SCT outgrew its original building and invested in a second building to expand operations and enhance service delivery. Our customer list continues to grow as does our reputation as market leaders in Ireland

With extensive experience in customer operations and leadership, Andy brings a deep understanding of client needs and a passion for delivering excellence. He works closely with other departments to align service delivery with SCT’s commercial and strategic objectives, ensuring that customer satisfaction remains at the heart of the business.

As Projects Director at SCT, Matt leads the strategic planning and delivery of complex technology deployment programs across the retail sector. With over 27 years of experience in Retail IT services - including 12 years in senior project leadership - he combines deep technical expertise with a strong commercial focus to deliver scalable, innovative solutions that meet the evolving needs of global retailers.

Matt oversees a high-performing team of project managers based in Ireland, managing deployments of EPOS, IT infrastructure, AV systems, and AI-driven digital signage across retail estates ranging from 30 to 650+ sites in multiple countries. His mission is to deliver high-quality, cost-effective solutions that enable retailers to scale, adapt, and thrive in a rapidly changing marketplace.

James is our CEO and a seasoned retail technology leader with over 20 years of experience at Vista Technology Support. Throughout his career, he has held senior positions in Operations, Logistics, Customer Services, and Sales, building a deep understanding of how technology can drive business success. At SCT, James leverages this expertise to shape strategy and deliver innovative solutions that empower our clients.

Beyond his leadership role, James is an accomplished technology writer for several online publications, a trustee for Tŷ Hafan children’s hospice, an active charity fundraiser, and an enthusiastic ice hockey player - bringing passion and purpose to everything he does.

Lucy is our Chief Commercial Officer, playing a pivotal role in driving the commercial success of the business, for both SCT and Vista. Lucy works closely with the Vista board to set and shape the strategic direction of the company, ensuring alignment between SCT’s goals and the broader vision of the group.

Lucy brings a wealth of experience to her role. She joined Vista in 2014 as Chief Financial Officer, having previously worked with the Vista board during her time as a portfolio executive at Finance Wales (now Development Bank of Wales). Her career began at PwC, where she specialised in Transaction Services, giving her a strong foundation in financial and operational strategy.

Outside of work, Lucy enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters. She is passionate about fitness and often goes running to stay active. She also loves traveling and skiing whenever she gets the chance. Lucy is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, reflecting her deep expertise and commitment to professional excellence.

Emily joined Vista in 2013 and after graduating with a first-class honours degree from Cardiff University and qualifying as a Chartered Accountant with PwC. Joining the team as a Financial Controller, Emily worked her way up to CFO just three years later, and later took on the role for SCT after their acquisition is 2024.

Appointed to the Board as Finance Director in 2016, Emily now plays a pivotal role at SCT, overseeing finance, administration, and HR functions. Her expertise ensures robust financial governance and supports the company’s long-term growth strategy. Emily is passionate about building strong teams and maintaining operational excellence.

Paul joined both SCT and Vista Technology Support in 2025 as COO, bringing more than 25 years of leadership experience in telecoms and IT service management. Starting his career at BT at 16, Paul has led large-scale service delivery teams and major programmes for global organisations including AWS, Google, Microsoft, and the NHS.

His leadership style - rooted in compassion, humility, and action - drives operational excellence and customer success at SCT.

Paul is passionate about “sales through service” and empowering people to perform at their best. Outside of work, he enjoys running, cycling, and hiking in the Brecon Beacons, and spending time with his family and their dog, Vinnie.

David Beer

David Beer joined Vista as Chief Revenue Officer in 2025, leading and overseeing our revenue strategy, aligning sales, marketing, and customer retention to accelerate our next phase of growth. Bringing nearly three decades of experience in the technology and services industry, David began his career as a technical engineer and progressed through sales leadership, before expanding to include responsibility for projects and service delivery to retail and hospitality clients. His career includes senior positions at Zebra Technologies and serving as General Manager of Toshiba’s retail solutions business in the UK & Ireland. David also holds an MBA from Bayes Business School.

David has led complex service engagements for major brands including Royal Mail, DHL, Asda, and more. Known for his open, inclusive, and hands-on leadership style, he’s as comfortable with mentoring teams as he is jumping in on a technical install. Outside of work, David enjoys sports, canoeing adventures, and family life in West London with his wife and their four children.
